Context

Adjacent to the Yorkshire Herald building in the centre of York stands Ebor Hall, a Grade II listed former assembly and banqueting hall on the bank of the River Ouse.

Response

The building has been restored and extended for use as a restaurant and bar. The new contemporary addition reflects the rhythm and proportion of the original hall using contemporary materials and forms. The riverside walkway extends along the whole frontage of the building linking to the adjacent Arts Cinema.
